The advice to Do what you love and love what you do has always kind of annoyed me. Who actually gets to do this? I have to assume that most people (like me) work their entire lives at so-so jobs until they finally get to retire.
Now that I have accomplished the retirement part, it has occurred to me that this is my opportunity to Do what I love and love what I do!
One of the things I love is writing. So I will “scribble” once in a while for family and friends, or whomever.
My other motivation to blog is that I would love to read something — anything really — that some long-ago-family-member wrote. I have “An Odyssey of Odysseys,” a memoir of sorts by a beloved uncle, which I absolutely love and feel fortunate to have. But, it just makes me want more, especially from a family member many generations ago.
So, just maybe, decades from now one of my distant relatives will come across this blog and say, How about that…we did have a writer in the family…
